Gun Violence Continues In St. Kitts: Two Wounded

Basseterre, St. Kitts – Unconfirmed reports indicate that approximately 9:10 (am) this morning a shooting incident took place on Cayon Street in the vicinity of the Kelsick’s residence.

Minutes prior a Pre-school had wrapped up a March along the same route.

Sources indicate that two young men were wounded. Further reports indicate that one was shot in the back while the other in the foot; both men are currently nursing injuries at  the JNF Hospital.

According to a press release from the Public Relations Unit Of The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force the scene was canvassed by  the Violent Crimes Unit, the Criminal Investigations Department and technicians from the Forensics Services Unit. Investigations are currently ongoing.

The release further states that the Assistant Commissioner with Responsibility for Crime, ACP Andre Mitchell said, “I appeal to general public to come forward with any information they may have regarding this incident.  If you were in the area and may have seen something, call us.”  He added, “we want to hear from you.  You can do so by calling any Police Station in the federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline, at 1-800-8477 to share information.”
