Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 31, 2016 (RSCNPF): Commissioner of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Ian Queeley has expressed appreciation to the attendees of the annual Gulf Insurance Inter-Primary School Athletics meet for their efforts in contributing to a safe event.
The annual athletic games is one of the larger events held on Nevis and it brings out thousands of supporters, each passionate about their school.
Commissioner Queeley said, the reports from the Charlestown Police Station indicated that the atmosphere was as energetic as in previous years and the crowd was massive. “Our Charlestown Police Station Officers said the crowd was very large and with that size crowd we are thankful that there were no incidents, the crowd focused on the events, and everyone had a good time” said Commissioner Queeley.
“I want to thank all the supporters who came out and rallied for their schools, from all reports it was an afternoon of spirited fun. A safe environment where families were able to enjoy themselves. Each of you did your part, and I say thank you. Commissioner Queeley continued, “I also want to thank the officers who were on duty, both from the Police and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, your vigilance contributed significantly as a deterrent to any anti-social behavior that would have detracted from Games.”
Commissioner Queeley added, “the combined efforts, that of a well behaved crowd and the presence of law enforcement contributed to an atmosphere where the children were able to truly enjoy themselves.”
