As a community and a nation mourns, many are reminded of a cancer that has been plaguing St. Kitts and Nevis. Gun violence continues to cause serious concern for the authorities in St. Kitts and Nevis as another family mourns the loss of a loved one.
This takes the murder total to seven (7) in the Federation.

Information reaching this medium suggests that sometime after 10:30 (pm) a shooting incident occurred in the Farm Site Area, Sandy Point. Confirmed reports reveal that Javier Caines (Percy) of St. Pauls is the latest murder victim.
Reports also suggest that as the victim and two others were trying to leave a party after boarding a vehicle, a gun man approached and opened fire. In an attempt to escape injury, the victims were able to leave the scene before coming to a halt at Cleverly Hill where Javier reportedly succumbed to his injuries.
The emergency services were on the scene providing assistance to the other victim(s) who were injured.
Javier was an employee of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services. This medium wishes to extend sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, friends, co-workers and fellow villagers.
