“It’s a flare, food with fun, time to treat your taste buds,” says David Browne of OTI
It’s no secret that over the last couple of months, Ocean Terrance Inn (OTI) has been engaged in the revamping, restructuring and rejuvenating of our facilities and aura; from our rooms to our dining amenities and our newly adapted feng shui, OTI is fastened on the thrill of becoming the islands #1 guesthouse with the best brunch and dinner spot.
In tune with our many changes and additions, OTI welcomes son of the soil, Mr. David Browne as our Executive Sous Chef.
Born to a Kittitian mother and an Antiguan father, David grew up in St. Kitts in the Capital, Basseterre, specifically, New Town. He left St. Kitts at the age of 16 and migrated to the United States, New York, where he pursued and completed a degree at Monroe College, Culinary Arts Institute, in Hotel and Food Management.
Subsequently, he moved back home to work at his parents restaurant, ‘Victor’s Hideaway’ in Newtown and then in Nevis.
After the death of his father, he moved to Antigua and landed a job at Elite Resort, where he worked for the last 13 years as a Sous Chef and a Health Inspector.

After much contemplation, David decided to move back to St. Kitts and contribute to the land that raised him.
He began working at OTI on December 4th 2015, “and I’m loving it,” he says.
OTI is delighted to have employed such a talented and high spirited Chef.
David have been involved in many professions, where he was in the Antiguan Police Force and worked at the Antiguan Prison, “but, I always end back in the kitchen,” said David.
“I always had a knack for cooking. I was always in the kitchen. As a little boy coming up, while the other kids played outside, I was inside, in the kitchen…. It’s where I belong I guess… I enjoy what I do, it’s never about money, I mean you need it to pay your bills etc, but I love the art of cooking, I love to be creative with my dishes.”
While working at the prison in Antigua, he was involved in a rehabilitation program initiated for the inmates, where he would teach them how to cook different meals, educate them about different healthy and cooking ethics as well as heighten their cooking and cutlery abilities.
Chef David loves to teach and impart his knowledge of the kitchen to others. He was very instrumental in starting the Young Chef Cook Off competition in Antigua and has indicated that he has intentions of OTI partnering with the local Ministry of Education to assist with a similar program in the Federation.
David comes to OTI with extensive training and an impeccable background in Cooking. He is a former cook of Galley Bay in Antigua, which is an award winning hotel for its food and service and is highlighted as the best all inclusive hotel in the Antigua and was voted #8 in the entire Caribbean. He also served as a transitional Sous Chef at Palm Island in the Southern Grenadines; one of the most romantic hotels in the Caribbean with indigenous food and is famous for their fresh seafood dishes. He is also a former cook at Fisherman’s Wharf.
“I’m new here, I’m not sure how it was before, but now and moving forward, we are focusing on more events and buffets. For this, I am going to incorporate a lot of local food and local flavors. Growing up in St. Kitts and Nevis, I’ve learnt that we are food people, we love flavor, we love our dishes well-seasoned and that is what we are offering; a lot of flavorful stuff for the locals to enjoy what they love and for the visitors to taste what they dream of.”
David made known that OTI’s à la carte menu is made up of a mixture of local, Caribbean and European inspired dishes.
Lunch is served from 12-2pm every day and dinner is served from 6-10pm every Tuesday-Sunday.
OTI offers special entertainment on Friday evenings with our ‘West Indian Night’ dubbed Buffet and Sunday brunch with our ‘Caribbean Nights’ dubbed buffet. Entertainment is provided on both nights.
“It’s good to be home, if you need some where to have a nice sit down, a chill moment or want to have some fun, OTI is the place for you!”
