Commissioner Liburd said, that reports from the Basseterre Police Station indicated that the J’Ouvert activities were as energetic as in previous years and the crowd was massive. “Our Basseterre Police Station Officers said “the crowd was massive and with that size crowd and thankfully only one or two fist fights, the J’Ouvert festivities can be summed up from a security standpoint as relatively safe,” said Commissioner Liburd.

I also want to thank the officers who were on duty, both from the Police and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, your vigilance contributed significantly as a deterrent to any anti-social behavior that would have detracted from the J’Ouvert revelry. Revelers were able to truly enjoy themselves,” added Commissioner Liburd.
