Cricket fans in St. Kitts and Nevis witnessed the Leeward Islands first encounter of the WICB Professional Cricket League fixture against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at Warner Park. Trinidad batted first and posted an impressive 325. Noteworthy half century knocks came from middle-order batsmen Narsingh Deonarine, Yannic Cariah and Steven Katwaroo. The performances gave TT Red Force the assurance that they had a formidable total given the performances of the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in last year’s tournament.

Unable to ride the waves, the Leeward Islands eventually crumbled for 118 all out. Being some 207 runs behind the Red Force opted not to bat a second time but to ask the Hurricanes to occupy the crease a second time.
