Nevisian, Coach Greene Leads Monroe College Mustangs Cross Country Team To Their Second Consecutive Regional Championship.

SKN PULSE,  Sunday 18th October, 2015 – Coach Greene and the Monroe Mustangs secured their second ever Regional Championship on Saturday 17th October at the 16th Annual  St. Joseph Invitational/Region XV Cross Country Championships. The Mustangs claimed their victory by scoring 15 points which were enough to hold on to their second ever Regional Championship honours.

The meet was held at Sunken Meadows Park and competitors included NJCAA Divisional programs I, II and III as well and NCAA level teams. From the report gathered the Monroe females won the region for the 2nd straight  year and place 3rd as a team in the Invitationals while the males won the region for the 2nd straight  year and  placed 5th in the  Invitationals.

Also of noteworthy mention is the fact that the Mustangs men and women  both swept the individual awards in the Region positions 1 through to 7. Moreover,  in both categories in the Cross Country Championships the top male and female were Mustang Athletes. While in the St.Joseph  Invitational, Mustang earned the Overall Male and Female winner. The second place female winner also was of Mustang fame.

Mr.Greene in an exclusive interview with SKN PULSE keenly stated that he was very proud of his athletes. Further,  he stated that his athletes were satisfied with their performances as the journey was very difficult. He emphasized that weather conditions weren’t favourable, it was cold and windy, he stated.

Nonetheless,  words alone can’t begin to describe his feelings as a Coach. Coach Greene was quick to point out that they will celebrate but come Tuesday it’s back to business as usual in preparation for the National Championships in  November.
