Basseterre Saint Kitts– Steve Jobs once said that ” The only way to do great work is to love what you do” and at this juncture Mr. Greene is content with his career choice and perfectly settled. Bearing such in mind, Mr. Shirvon Greene has been named Atlantic Region Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Assistant Coach Of The Year for the 2015 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Season. Such an announcement came on Wednesday 4th March 2015 when the inaugural class of Region Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2015 NJCAA indoor track & field season were announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as voted on by the NJCAA’s coaches.

Coach Greene’s Profile is as follows:
Position: Indoor Track and Field Assistant Coach.
School: Monroe College.
Mr. Shirvon Greene is a middle-distance coach in his eighth year at Monroe College. Coach Greene has a group that appears three times among the division’s top ten this season and are entered in the national championships. In addition, the 4×400 and DMR squads he coaches are entered in the NJCAA meet.
Coach Greene when asked about the announcement, emphasized “I was quite surprised actually.” He further explained that because he has a passion for Track and Field his greatest joy comes from the accomplishments of his athletes. He opined that, even greater things will be accomplished in the future.
Through this medium Mr. Shirvon Greene wishes to express his profound thanks first and foremost to the almighty God, his athletes, Monroe College for affording him the opportunity to Coach, family, friends, well-wishers and the entire Nevisian community for their words of encouragement.
With that said, the competition continues this weekend for Coach Greene and The Monroe College Mustangs as they compete in The NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships that will be contested on 6th & 7th of March in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
